In an attempt to subdue my overflowing craft supply storage system (a.k.a. a few messy drawers and shoeboxes), I am sorting and organizing fabric, paper, and fiber scraps. I save even the smallest bits because I can’t bear to waste a pretty pattern or a bit of textured handmade paper. So out of what many would have thrown away, I’ve produced these gift tags.
Approximately 3″ long by 1.75″ wide, each gift tag is made of stiff cardboard wrapped in fabric scraps, paper scraps, and decorative string. The front of each tag features a paper heart, other paper scraps (including some bits of my own handmade paper on a couple of the tags), and colored string with a small space for writing a name or a short message. The heartstrings tags feature a unique color combination that includes yellow, orange, blue, red, purple, pink, and brown.
The back of the tag shows the fabric, which is a plum-colored plaid cotton fabric. (The fabric actually came from an old shirt that was not in good enough condition to donate.)The back also shows the wrapped string.
I’m selling these gift tags in my etsy shop as a set of 6. Only one set available. Check out my shop to purchase these or pieces of my art. Thanks!
